It wasn’t too long ago that finding a Gluten Free spot in Cambridge was a nightmare. More often than not, you’d be made to feel like a nuisance for asking about kitchen precautions. Finally it seems like those days are behind us. No more compromising on luxurious lunches and tasty treats to avoid a swirling stomach. From delis to restaurants, quick bites to desserts, we’re suddenly spoilt for choice when it comes to Gluten Free options in Cambridge. So much so, we’ve had to narrow our favourite GF spots to five! If these don’t tickle your tastebuds or whet your appetite, we don’t know what will.


Free School Lane & Station Road

From beef burgers to baby back ribs and salads to slaws, there’s an entirely separate Gluten Free menu stacked with BBQ bits at Smokeworks. With two Cambridge locations, you’d be a fool to miss out.

Rainbow Cafe

King’s Parade

This award-winning cafe has been ahead of the curve for quite some time. For the past 27 years Rainbow Cafe have been sustainable, seasonal, largely organic and local, and specialising in food intolerance and allergies. Whatever your requirements, this central Cambridge spot offers a dozen tasty solutions.


The Sea Tree

Mill Road, Cambridge CB1 3AH

Dubbed as ‘the best Gluten Free fish and chips in town’, The Sea Tree’s reputation precedes itself. The fish is fresh, the produce is sourced from Mill Road (veg from Hilary’s, sausages from Andrew Northrop Butchers), and the business is sustainable.

The Daily Bread Co-operative

Kilmaine Close, Cambridge CB4 2PH

Daily Bread Cambridge is a whole food shop, committed to supplying ethically-sourced natural foods to the local communities at affordable prices. This co-operative business doesn’t just tick the ethical boxes for animals though, they also employ and support people with mental health challenges.

Stem and Glory

Chesterton Rd, Cambridge CB4 3AT

King Street, Cambridge CB1 1LH

CAMYOGA founder and long-term vegan, Louise, launched this plant-powered enterprise off the back of a successful crowdfunding campaign. If you’re a fan of guilt-free, gluten free your mouth will be watering at Stem and Glory’s menus. The Chesterton Road branch offers full table service lunch and dinner, with a menu boasting the likes of Luxury Gluten Free Lasagna. While, King Street menu specialises in breakfast, brunch, and lunch featuring all the tofu and avocado you could dream of. Eat in, takeaway, or schedule a trip for their soon-to-be London branch!
