Cambridge is now ranked as the second city in the UK for the most properties valued at above £1m outside of London. Meaning we have the most property millionaires than the majority of the UK.
According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS) the growth in Cambridge is 15%, which is three times higher than the national average at 5%. With only Orkney Islands outgrowing Cambridge at 18.20%.
Cambridge’s highest growing postcode was CB11, with a rise of 156%. In 2016 £215,000 was the average house price, today the average house price is an amazing £550,000.
The runner up was CB21 with a 48% increase in the last 12 months.
Often Cambridge is compared to London when house prices are concerned, however Cambridge has proven to be severely outperforming London, with places such as Kensington seeing a 10% drop and the City of London a 5% drop, so for property investors Cambridge appears to be a lucrative investment.
