Cambridge’s annual festival, The Big Weekend, returns with a mammoth line-up.

This year’s Big Weekend will take place from Friday, July 13 until Sunday, July 15 on Parker’s Piece.

The event will kick off on Friday night with music from native funk rock band Swagger, Ultimate Elton and The Rocket Band, and Right Said Fred, followed by a fireworks display and the ever-popular BPM Live Silent Disco.

Saturday will see country rockabilly Jacen Bruce and his band Hold Fast take to the stage. Two big headliners will finish off a day of incredible music: legendary reggae producer, songwriter, performer, dub innovator and musical genius Lee Scratch Perry with fellow heavyweight Mad Professor followed by classic ska and reggae from The Neville Staple Band.
Sunday at the Big Weekend will feature the ever popular Cambridge Mela, celebrating Asian culture. Performing on the Main Stage: bhangra superstars, RSVP Bhangra, DJ Sonny Ji. East Beatz West and Mela headliner, Dutch-Pakistani singer-songwriter Imran Khan!
Enjoy the wealth of community performances and local groups bringing a wide variety of activities across the weekend. Featuring ARU Local Bands Stage, BPM Live Silent DiscoLight Cinema Marquee, food stalls, sports activities, Dance MarqueeFrench MarketBar, University Museums Make and Create Tent, ARM Gaming Hub in association with Cambridge Regional College, science activities in the TTP Fun Lab, and the Leaders’ Children’s Entertainment Area including Art Tentface paintingstory telling relay and much more!
CAMVote100 will also be present celebrating the courage and resilience of the women of Cambridge, commemorating 100 years of the women’s suffrage.

The free event sees thousands of people from the city and beyond congregate on Parker’s Piece for three days of music, food and fun.
